Since solar water pump is a relatively new product in the market and most of pump users are lack of awareness towards it, It is difficult for traders , wholesalers, distributors, shop keepers who have & will have business in PV solar water pumps to broadcast the knowledge of it to their clients.

A complete solar powered water system includes solar panels, mounting frames, electrode cable, solar pump, inverter and some accessories. A headache point is about solar panel.

How many solar panels should your clients use and should be in series or in parallel connecting?

There are 3 steps to decide how many solar panels should be used in your solar pumming system and how should connect them:

Step1: Confirm the pump power & VOC (VOC means Voltage at Open Circuit).

Step2: Confirm the Power & VOC of single solar panel.

Step3: Calculate the required quantity of solar panels and the connecting ways (in series or in parallel connect);

Please keep the following rules in mind:

Rule 1: the power of solar panel system should be at least 1.3 times of pump(motor), and the total VOC of solar panel system should not exceed the VOC of solar pump;

Rule 2: When the solar panels are series connecting, the Voltage is added, the Current isn't changed;

Rule 3: When the solar panels are parallel connecting, the Voltage isn't change, the Current is added.
